In this workshop, participants will learn how to use their cultural identity to lead in their workplaces.  Through the lens of Puerto Rican culture, participants at any leadership position will learn in this 3-part workshop:

1. An Introduction to Puerto Rico, its Culture, Music and Their Role in Affirming Identity

• A brief history of Puerto Rico
• How Puerto Rican culture is affirmed in today's environment
• How Puerto Rican music and dance are fundamental to the people on the island and throughout the diaspora: From Bomba y Plena, to Bad Bunny, and beyond
  
• Learn to empathize with a different cultural identity and appreciate how different can be an asset in workplace settings

2.  Affirming Leadership through Movement

• Learn how to center yourself through anchoring and clarifying exercises
  
• Know that your community has your back.  Learn how to receive your community's support and give support to others in their intentions
  
• Learn how to move with intention
  
• Learn how to communicate your intentions with conviction

3.  Move with Intention to Lead with Intention

• Discuss how it feels to move with clarity of intention
  
• Learn how to apply this learning in leadership opportunities
  
• Make concrete plans to apply your own cultural background in your everyday life
  
• Create anchors and triggers for practicing moving intentionally and making your intentions known
  
• Make a plan for connecting with your own cultural identity
