For mothers and others interested in environmental health. As Tenured Professor of Preventive Medicine, Dr. Claudio works closely with local community-based organizations to combat health problems. Her studies on asthma revealed that rates were 21-times higher in low-income minority neighborhoods as compared to those more affluent. This information provided communities with evidence to support interventions focused on the neighborhoods that needed them most. Dr. Claudio has worked as a liaison between community leaders, academics and industry to address the health effects of environmental pollution, bridging the gap between scientific experts and community leaders. |
