Microplastics in the Brain: A Growing Concern
A recent study has shed light on an alarming trend: microplastics are accumulating in our brains at an increasing rate. As an expert in environmental medicine and public health, I find these results both fascinating and concerning. The study, which examined brain tissue samples from autopsies, revealed that microplastics now make up about 0.5% of brain tissue by weight. This represents a significant increase of over 50% compared to similar samples taken just a decade ago. Microplastics appear to be one of those types of chemicals."
